An enduring presence in American nature photography for the past twenty years, George Ward's images have been widely featured in national publications, including many appearances in the Sierra Club and Audubon Society calendars. Magazine credits include Sierra, Newsweek, Outside, Backpacker, Outdoor Photographer and Nature's Best. His work has also appeared in numerous books showcasing the natural history of the West, and his art prints are part of many private and corporate collections.

George’s intention with his photography, is to stylistically, but faithfully, interpret the wonder of the natural world. No digital compositing is ever done, by adding to or subtracting from, the reality that nature revealed to the camera. In the field, filters are rarely used, and only then to compensate for the limitations of film to record certain high-contrast situations, or to reduce glare.
