Moment Agency - On How They are Using Digital Railroad

MOMENT is a collectively owned agency for photojournalism, based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Chris Maluszynski, one of MOMENT's founders, recently told us about how his agency has benefited from using Digital Railroad - read on...

Being a small agency run by its own photographers that constantly are on the move, MOMENT relies heavily on digital technologies for everything from commuicating within the agency, to keeping in touch with our clients, delivering assignments, and marketing the agency online. With DRR we've gotten a tool that simplifies a lot of our work, and also gives us the power of a searchable and marketable archive that we were previously lacking.

Beside the obvious upsides of having an online archive, which has attracted new buyers and generated assignments for us, we've also noticed how the syndication features of DRR have simplified the everyday tasks a lot.

Traveling for long periods of time makes it hard for our agencey's photographers to meet in person and discuss edits, which is a vital part of our work. By using the lightbox features of DRR this has become possible across continents.

The future at DRR looks even more interesting. With the new marketplace functions and expanded customization we're confident DRR will continue to make our work and business even easier.

Dan Steinhardt - New Work

Dan (Dano) Steinhardt’s approach to design was heavily influenced by the painter René Magritte, the environ-mental portraitist Arnold Newman and Farm Security Administration photo-grapher Dorothea Lange.

His draw to dramatic lighting, impactful color and finding the extraordinary in the ordinary is inspired by the numerous photographers and other creative professionals he has the honor of working with.

Check out a recent feature on Dano in Rangefinder Magazine, June 2007.

Digital Railroad Sponsors WHNPA 2007

WHNPA.jpg

© Scott Braut

This weekend Digital Railroad had the privilege to participate as a sponsor of the White House News Photographers Association annual gala and award dinner "Eyes on History" held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC.

We were honored to recognize the creativity, passion and sacrifice made by the community of photo journalists that Digital Railroad was created to serve.

The photographers whose work was celebrated by WHNPA remind us all of why we have chosen to be in this profession and crystallize our mission to empower photographers and photo buyers by providing the tools they need so they can focus on what they do best - create powerful images and the stories these images so effectively communicate to the world.

Thank you to WHNPA for allowing Digital Railroad to be a part of this wonderful event.

Check out this clip of Evan Nisselson, Digital Railroad Founder and CEO, presenting the award for Political Photo of the Year to Chip Somodevilla.
