Stephen Mansfield, Picture Editor for Universal News & Sport, reports: "It was the biggest story in Scotland for years when two Asian terrorists attacked Glasgow Airport on Saturday 1st July by ramming a flaming Jeep Cherokee into the main terminal building. Thankfully the hapless attackers were subdued by police, the public and airport staff, thus avoiding what could have been a major catastrophe on a level with the Pan Am atrocity in Lockerbie.

Our agency, a DigitalRailroad member, was there within the hour, but it was impossible to get near the scene of the incident for security reasons.

However, we did obtain some stunning images from a Spanish tourist who was on the spot as he was checking in to go back home to Lanzarote. After agreeing very amicable syndication rights, we were able to transmit his images all over the globe and few people will argue that it has become one of the most iconic images of 2007.

Digital Railroad and its very efficient FTP software helped us enormously on the night and helped smooth the way, for what was our agency's most memorable experience so far in our short existence."

Images uploaded to Universal's Digital Railroad archive were licensed globally and included premier news publications including:

London Times-- Front Page
Daily Telegraph--- Front Page
Most other UK papers
New York Times--- Front Page
Exclusive in Germany with Stern Magazine
All Major Australian Newspapers including Sidney Morning Herald
